Where does money come from?

E and I recently had this conversation about money.

E: Where is daddy?
Me: He's at work.
E: Why does daddy have to go to work all the time?
Me: Well, he works so we can have money to buy food and have fun. (among other things of course, but let's keep it simple right now)
E: He doesn't get money for working.
Me: Oh really? Where do you think we get money?
E: From our piggy banks, of course.
Me: Oh, well, how do you think money gets in your piggy bank?
E: From people who want to give us money.

So, for anyone who wants to give us money, we'll put it in our piggy banks and use it to buy food!

I sure hate to burst his bubble right now, but man what a rude awakening he has coming!
